Citizen Science

Citizen Science is a Cascade STEAM Community Group with a focus on life sciences and science-related Community Projects. Anyone interested in science-related technical topics, discussion, socializing, community-building, and collaboration among local organizations is welcome to attend.

Meetings

We plan to meet monthly from 5:30–7:00pm at various locations in Bellingham. Meeting details will be available on the Cascade STEAM Community Hub and the Cascade STEAM Meetup Page.

Our agenda for July is Lightning Talks and is in collaboration with PNW Climate Week! Several speakers from local organizations will share brief presentations and Q&A (5-10 minutes) regarding their organizations and major projects — followed by open discussion. PLEASE REGISTER ON LUMA TO ATTEND.

Online discussion, group organization, and community project planning occurs at the Cascade STEAM Community Hub in the science channel.

Stormwater Monitoring Community Project

The Stormwater Monitoring Community Project aims to understand and improve the stormwater monitoring for Bellingham. We’ll learn about methods used by the City of Bellingham, Washington State Department of Ecology, and the local non-profit RE Sources to ensure Bellingham Bay is minimally impacted by stormwater run-off.
